While shopping yesterday the clerk was hanging my items and forgot to trade the nice, wooden hangars for the cheapie plastic ones they send people home with. I did not speak up. I was ecstatic about free, nice hangars for no apparent reason. TAKE THAT Ann Taylor! Now we've even for the $78 impulse-buy floral shirt from last summer.

It's hot in Texas in August. Very hot. When I opened the electric bill this month I was pleasantly surprised, which is a very strange feeling. It is a full third lower than it was last year. YES. A THIRD. Amazing, no? I suspect that this is 100% due to my awesome sewing skills. I made roman shades and snazzy curtains for all the windows and lined them with blackout liner.
It turns the house into something of a cave but it seems to keep the evil sun out and my precious bought air in. To the tune of 1,000 kilowatt hours saved. Look at that - saving money and the environment. I'm a regular hippie aren't I? Next thing you know I'll start recycling or some other lunatic thing Al Gore comes up with.

My ten-year high school reunion was last weekend and I did not attend. In fact, I did not consider attending for even one fraction of a second. I forgot it had even happened until bits of stories trickled out onto the internet. Google and MySpace promptly told me all.
Basically, all the people I hated in high school? I probably would still hate them if I met them in real life. Shocker! (Honestly though, it is downright scary what you can find out about people with some basic Google ninja skills. Have you Googled yourself lately?)

This weekend I am going to a fair. A real, live, trade-coupons-for-beer county fair. I can't wait. There's even a Rodeo Queen. Awesome.
Loved your "round up" until I got to the part about your 10 year reunion. Since I just had my 20 year reunion it made me feel VERY old!
Oh well, as long as you keep thinking Al Gore is crazy, I'll keep coming back.
